Sunburn Treatment

Sunburn Treatment

Once sunburn has occurred, generally time is the only thing that can heal it completely. However there are some steps you can take to help in sunburn treatment and reduce the pain. The most important thing is to stay out of the sun for a while. The sun got you in this mess, but it won’t get you out, so stay away! Painkillers like Tylenol, aspirin, and ibuprofen can help dull the pain. Also, there are sprays and creams that you can apply to help cool down the burnt area.

After you get home, gently wash off any remaining sunscreen, being especially careful with sensitive areas such as the face, and anywhere on babies and small children. Once the sunscreen is off you can now apply the spray sunburn treatment products like Solarcaine to cool down the area. Be careful, if left on too long these products may irritate the skin. Do not leave it on for more than an hour if you use it at all. Word to the wise, some people may find Solarcaine to cold and they might not be able to stand it. If this is the case there are other aloe gels that still have the cooling effect and don’t feel too cold on the skin.
